CREATION AS PARABLE

The physical laws are pictures of the spiritual laws of God.
We see reflected in the laws of nature the ways of Heaven here on earth.

Parable

a narrative drawn from nature to set forth a spiritual lesson;
a narrative dealing with earthly things with a spiritual meaning

In nature,
God choreographs the dance of His ways
and projects them upon a wide, live screen
of earth and sky and sea

solar system
As the sun is the center of our solar system, so the "Sun of Righteousness" (Malachi 4:2) is the center of our existence.

The planets, as they revolve around the sun, have no light in and of themselves; yet they shine as brightly in our night skies as do the stars that are light.  The light we see from the planets is reflected light from the sun.  Our light as Christians is not our own.  It is reflected light from our Creator.  The degree to which He is the center of our universe and the degree to which we face Him, is the degree to which people will see the light of the "Sun of Righteous" reflected in our lives.

The orbit of planets is held in place by the counter-forces of gravity and centrifugal force.  The Gravitational pull of the sun draws the planets toward it.  The outward push of centrifugal forces counteracts the gravity.  The result is that the planets are held precisely in place in orbits of absolute predicatbility.  The love of God is the gravitational force of our "Sun" and it ever draws us to it.  The centrifugal force of our free will combined with His undying love, precisely places us in relationship with Him, granting us, through the space of freedom, a unique individuality, and through the communion of His love, a glorious belonging to the family of God.

                                       The Ways of Heaven

Newton's Law of Gravity:
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

This law was foundational to unlocking the possibilities of flight.  It was foundaitonal to the space program and it is a picture of the laws and ways of the spiritual realm.  Though spiritual realities or ways are not exact duplicates of this law of gravity, they closely approximate it.  For example, Satan is clearly the opposite of God but, though formidable, is not equal to God.  Though he is of sufficient strength to be God's only enemy, in the end He will go down to destruction.  Similarly, the anti-Christ is not equal to Christ but is a dark mimic, or counterfeit, of Him.  Nonetheless, the underlying spiritual premise is pictured by this basic law of nature.

Spiritual Pictures of Newton's law of gravity:

G
od ---- Satan
Christ ----Anti-Christ
John the Baptist ----The False Prophet
Heaven ---- Hell
Good ---- Evil
Love ---- Hate

Forgiveness to Hurts
Mercy to Wrongs
Praying for our enemies
Turning the other cheek
Loving those who hate us

The entire Sermon on the Mount is a spiritual manifestation of this physical law that for every action there is an equal and oppoisite reaction.

Einstein:  E = MC (squared): energy equals mass times the speed of light squared.

The simplistic version of this aspect of Einstein's theory of Relativity is:  As an object approaches the speed of light, mass increases in volume and time slows down.  If an object goest the speed of light, mass converts to energy and time ceases to be.

Spiritually, as we enter into the Light of the world, as we enter into the "Sun of Righteousness" through death, our physical mass has converted to spirit and time has ceased to be.  (Rev. 10:6)

The First Law of Thermodynamics:  the law of conservation of mass and energy

Matter and energy can neither be created nor destroyed.  They may each be converted to the other but neither can be created nor destroyed.  Again this is a picture of the conversion of physical to spirit when we die, in the sense that our physical bodies become spiritual bodies.  The natural becomes supernatural.  I Corinthians 15 speaks of the mortal putting on immortality and the physical body putting on a spiritual body.

This first law of thermodynamics is considered the most powerful and the most fundamental generalizaton about the universe that scientists have ever been able to make.  The fact that no new matter is being created agrees with the Bible statement that the heavens and the earth were finished (Gn. 2:1), that God rested from his work, the work of creation.

The Second Law of Thermodynamics

This second law is also considered a very powerful law of physics.  The contents of our universe are becoming less ordered and more random.  Left to themselves, things become disorganized.  Things wear out.  Even though the first law says that energy cannot be destroyed, the second law says that it does downgrade.  So the universe becoming less ordered begs the question, "where did the initial order come from?"  It is a question scientists can't answer.

Spiritually, the application of this second law of thermodynamifcs becomes:  left to ourselves we become spiritually chaotic.  We downgrade spiritually if we are not regularly upgraded by our interactions with God and the inner renewing of the Holy Spirit.
